Reforestation and Forestry of the SECF

The English Society of Forestry was created in 1991 to promote the study and advancement of forest science and technology in Spain, promoting scientific and technical development of its members, promoting cooperation between them and foster national and international exchange between institutions and specialists in their fields. The group of the Society is composed of both researchers and professionals from related fields or forest, for companies and organizations that have among their objectives the carrying out of work and forestry activities in the private or public.

The English Society of Forestry, through its portal gives insight into the activities that develop their Working Groups by providing information generated by the different groups, both for the development of meetings as the contributions that arise of them through publications , conclusions or other information.

scholarly communication has undergone a profound transformation in the development of Internet and digital publishing. Scientific and educational publishing in open access to the Internet is becoming a complement to traditional publishing. In recent years there have been numerous statements in favor of open access to scientific communication. The most important statements are:

• The Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI)
• Berlin Declaration on Open Access the Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities
• Declaration REBIUN / CRUE in support of open access model
• Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing.

Thus, during the Innovation Days Education and Extension Forestry held in Palencia, 27 to May 30, 2010, was agreed to publish on the web of the superb notes SECF Forestry General and reforestation Serrada employed by the teacher in the Engineering courses EUITF Forestry, UPM, for publication in open access , with the following conditions:
